The Divide is the arrival or departure point for the Routeburn Track and is located on the Milford  Sound - Te Anau highway.

There is no accommodation or shopping facility at The Divide, only The Divide Shelter - an open shelter at the Milford end of the Routeburn Track and a small car park.

If you leave a car in the car park, it will be at owners risk, as there is no secure parking.

The Divide shelter is open with toilet facilites. Overnight staying at the The Divide Shelter is prohibited, as there is no water and no mobile cellphone coverage. The shelter is people who finishing or starting the Routeburn Track.

The Divide is also a stop for bus and coach operators operating to and from Te Anau, Queenstown and Milford Sound.
