Interislander's three passenger and vehicle ships - the Kaiarahi, Aratere and the Kaitaki, offer a convenient and regular daily rail freight, commercial and passenger service crossing Cook Strait - a 30 kilometre stretch of water separating Wellington on the North Island and Picton on the South Island.

Crossing time is 3 hours and 20 minutes for all ferries.

Stewart Island Ferry  
Foveaux Strait - Bluff (Invercargill) to Half Moon Bay - South Island to Stewart Island
Scheduled passenger only ferry services from Bluff to Stewart Island, using a specially built 23m catamaran seating 100 people.

Sailing time is one hour. Operates daily except Christmas Day. Licensed. Group charters, hunting parties welcome.
